Bianca & Adam
I can’t believe it was all the way back in June that I got to photograph Bianca & Adam’s stunning wedding at one of my favourite venues, Moddershall Oaks. I had such a blast photographing their wedding and Bianca and Adam are a super chilled and happy couple. I was in heaven!
Here’s what they had to say about the day…
How did you meet?:
We met at a bar in Hanley Stoke on Trent called Pink, famed for its drag queens and camp music :p
Tell me your proposal story:
We went to Las Vegas in August 2016 for Adams 30th birthday which was a gift from me. It was our third trip there and I didn’t know that he had planned to propose whilst we were there. Our first holiday together was Vegas and we stayed at the Bellagio, he said it seemed only fitting that he was to propose by the fountains in our favourite holiday destination.
Why did you choose the venue(s) you chose for your wedding day?:
I have always planned in my head for my dream wedding to be none traditional (no church or stately home setting) I wanted a modern venue that also had ambience & soul. Moddershall Oaks ticked every box as well as them offering the outdoor venue option which such a pretty backdrop. It fit our theme and personalities perfectly. Being local was also important as I didn’t want guests to be put off by travelling long distances to join us on our day
What was it you loved about your outfits and accessories that made you choose them?:
Again, we didn’t want the traditional wedding style for both bride & groom, we wanted to keep our outfits low key, stylish and modern which we both feel we achieved. My dress was perfect as it was plain but still classy and made me feel like a princess. No veils or tiaras! My accessories were simple adding a touch of sparkle in my hair and with my jewellery. Adams suit complimented the colour scheme perfectly and both he and his groomsmen looked great.
Tell me about the theme/styling of your wedding:
Our theme was modern and romantic, every last detail of our wedding was designed in keeping with our personalities, laid back, chilled and modern. I chose to fill the room with lots of flowers and it certainly left a lasting impression on our guests (and our bank balance!) we chose venue perfection and parsley & save to style the venue as they were familiar with it already and proved to be an excellent choice. Our cake design was by Ruselle and wasn’t a traditional cake. We also added some humour to the theme by playing a Mr & Mrs game which certainly raised a few eyebrows
What was your first dance and why did you choose it?:
We chose Jay Z and Mr Hudson “young forever” as this has always been our song. Again, we didn’t want a traditional wedding song and feel the lyrics represent us as a couple so well. Our favourite lyric of the song is “a picture perfect day to last a whole lifetime” and this sums up our relationship and wedding day perfectly.
What were the most special/memorable moments of the day for you?
It is so rare to have all your loved ones together in one room and that meant the world to us. The planning of the wedding was quite short (9 months from engagement to wedding day) so for me the anticipation to create perfection in what normally takes 18 months – 2 years was overwhelming for us when we saw our plans (and Pinterest boards) come to life. Most people say their day goes so fast they don’t remember it, that certainly isn’t the case with us, we remember and enjoyed every last minute! We have been together for 9 years so this for me was a day I’ve waited forever for and wasn’t going up let it slip by in a daze
Why did you choose Bib & Tucker as your photographer, and what was your experience of your photography on the day?:
Choosing a photographer was the most challenging part of our wedding planning. Meeting potential photographers at wedding fairs, from referral etc proved a very laborious and frustrating segment. We met 4 different ones before settling with B&T. Their approach to weddings for me was archaic, cheesy and nothing at all like we wanted. We actually became disheartened in thinking we would have to “settle” with one due to time constraints. Meeting Daniel was almost an epiphany that someone was finally getting us and our vibe. We loved everything from the initial meeting, engagement shoot and of course the day itself. So many of our guests commented on how great Dan was and no point was he intrusive or cheesy. The photos are amazing and we expected nothing less as we were always confident they would be.
What would be your best bit of advice to other couples planning their wedding?:
We planned and executed our day within a 9 month period so proved it can be done in a short space of time. My main learning curve from the planning was that there are so many stigmas of what a wedding day should be like (wedding fayres/music choice/decor) I would say your wedding should be your personality and not always what’s expected. Our wedding planner/suppliers loved working with us as they heard so many new ideas that were unique. I found so many quirky accessories, ideas and tips from the internet that far exceeded everyone’s expectations on the day. Don’t be afraid to deviate from the normal wedding tradition!
Are you planning on going on a Honeymoon? If so where are you headed?
We travelled to Mexico and stayed at a beautiful hotel called Secrets Maroma Beach hotel and spa resort. It was amazing to unwind after a hectic few months. We are planning a trip to America next year too
