Laura & Dean

Hi! We’re coming toward the tail end of the wedding season for me, which is sad 🙁 However that does give me a little time to share some images from the lovely wedding of Laura and Dean.
Here’s what they had to say about their day…

How did you meet?:

We used to work with each other at Brassingtons nightclub in Newcastle. (Romantic…. I know)

Tell me your proposal story:

Well…. Dean had been telling me of this huge Christmas present that he had hidden in loft for me. So on Christmas morning, after I had finished my morning routine of vomiting (as I was 3 months pregnant at the time.) I opened a few smaller presents and asked where my huge present was as I wondered what on earth it could possibly be!? He went off and came back with a small card… Inside of which he had written all the reasons of why he wanted to marry me, whilst reading the card he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Obviously… I said yes! Nothing big, nothing flashy, just the two of us like I had always said I would of wanted it to be…. I’m not one for a big show!

Why did you choose the venue(s) you chose for your wedding day?:

We fell in in love with Moddershall Oaks the first time we visited and decided then and there it was the place for us. The whole venue is just us down to a tee… And we couldn’t of been more right. Loved every aspect of our wedding.

What was it you loved about your outfits and accessories that made you choose them?:

For my dress I was already set on a certain design so I pretty much knew what I wanted. I explained this at the bridal shop and after about 4 dresses I found the perfect one… Very elegant and comfortable! Fell in love straight away! Deans was an easy choice as again he pretty much knew how he wanted to look and the colour he wanted. He didn’t want the traditional top and tails and just went for the simple shirt, waistcoat and blazer. They complimented each other very well, with the bridesmaids in Coral and the men’s accessories in Mint.

Tell me about the theme/styling of your wedding:

We decided on the more rustic/ vintage style for our wedding. It added a bit more to the decor as Laura’s mum Bev handmade the majority of our decorations, from the invitations, to the cake, to the bunting and even the favours. She was our venue dresser and it was absolutely amazing in every way! It’s the little touches that make it that extra special.

What was your first dance and why did you choose it?:

Our first dance was Paolo Nutini, better man. We’re both big fans of Paolo and Dean actually picked the song, it’s both one of our favourite songs but he felt the lyrics portrayed the way he feels about me. It’s also a favourite of our now 2 year old daughter Willow as we sang it to her most nights to settle her off. Now she falls asleep as soon as we put it on!

What were the most special/memorable moments of the day for you?

For Dean it was seeing me walk down the aisle to him, with our daughter Willow in front as our flower girl.
But the whole day was special, we could really pick the best moments as we loved every minute of it.

Why did you choose Bib & Tucker as your photographer, and what was your experience of your photography on the day?:

We felt comfortable with Dan, we first met him when we had our newborn photo shoot for our daughter. We knew from then he was the photographer for us. The style he offers is exactly what we wanted, relaxed and natural. We couldn’t recommend Dan enough, we LOVE our wedding pictures and are having great difficulty in deciding which ones we want to get printed!

What would be your best bit of advice to other couples planning their wedding?:

Get a Bev! Our wedding wouldn’t have looked so beautiful otherwise!
Be laid back about it… We are both pretty chilled people so we didn’t stress or worry about anything really and as a result we both had a great relaxed day!

Are you planning on going on a Honeymoon? If so where are you headed/where did you go?

We headed to the Lake District in a beautiful log cabin on Windemere! Luckily for us, it was a scorcher whilst we were there and we had a fabulous time.
